The Banks Peninsula House is a magnificent beachside architectural masterpiece, nestled in a picturesque coastal environment designed to harmonise with its natural surroundings. The villa showcases a seamless blend of contemporary elegance and coastal charm. Its thoughtful design and meticulous attention to detail have resulted in achieving a fully functional character home.

Exterior Design: The villa stands beautifully against its beachside back drop. Its design combines clean lines and organic materials, such as beautiful historic French Oak beams, rusticated horizontal Cedar weatherboards with vertical battens, traditional looking French door panels, one of a kind Cedar Barn style doors. An array of rich timbers are beautifully finished establishing a visual connection between the indoor character and surrounding outdoor coastal landscape. 

Living Spaces: The homes interior spaces are designed to maximise the coastal vistas while providing a comfortable and relaxed living experience. The open-plan living area creates a seamless connection between the kitchen, living and dinging areas, offering a spacious functional and warm atmosphere. The interior decor of the villa, showcases a rich interplay of textures, clean crisp lines of grooved plywood, timber rafters, and a neutral colour palette. These features are perfectly complemented by the natural presence of 300-year-old exotic French Oak beams. These remarkable beams infuse the space with a unique character and rustic charm, drawing inspiration from both the coastal surroundings and the neighbouring French settlement.

Sustainablity and Enviromental Features

This beachside home embodies sustainability at its core. Throughout construction, careful measures were taken to protect the environment, including filtering and cleaning groundwater before returning it to the ocean and implementing robust sediment control to safeguard waterways. A comprehensive wastewater system, featuring septic tanks, holding tanks, UV filtration, and an Ecotrench dripline, ensures minimal environmental impact. Locally sourced materials were prioritized to reduce transportation emissions, while rainwater harvesting and reuse for landscaping irrigation showcase resource efficiency. A dedicated pool disposal tank responsibly manages chemical runoff. Inside, the home boasts energy-saving features such as high-rated insulation, low-e thermal glass, and renewable heating options like a wood burner and gas water heater. Strategic architectural elements like overhanging soffits, louvres, and shaded blinds prevent overheating in summer, while skylights maximize natural light and airflow for cooling. With cedar cladding and sustainable design principles throughout, this home is a testament to responsible coastal living.
